2nd X1  v Broseley  1st July 2006

On one of the hottest days of the year Madeley entertained  Broseley on an immaculate looking Park Street ground. Madeley lost the toss and the visitors elected to field first which seemed a slightly strange decision with the wicket and outfield looking excellent.

Madeley soon got on top of the bowling and with Andy Pugh playing some glorious shots the opening stand rattled up the 100. Eventually Kev was judged to be LBW and was out for a grafting 34.

Chris Hodson came to the wicket and after surviving an early catch, helped to increase the tempo. With Andy scoring freely Madeley soon approached the 200 mark. Hoddy was finally caught on the boundary for 28.  Andy was joined by Lee Allen and the pair were still there at the close of the innings. "Spikey" had put the bowlers to the sword and with one of his sixes managed to bounce the ball off the covers and then off John Fawcetts car before the ball disappeared over the wall. Madeley ended on 216 - 2 off 40 overs with Andy Pugh scoring a magnificent 125 not out.

Jamie Lloyd and Adnan then opening the bowling and Broseley were soon struggling at 14 - 4.  Both bowlers bowled well and a very early finish looked on. Broseley pushed their score on to 80 - 6 when Oggy Barker and Chris Hodson came on to bowl and with both taking two quick wickets Broseley were all out for 91.

Madeley bowled and fielded extremely well and Oddy was well pleased with everyones attitude and effort.
